40 x 50 inches

Swept in Americana, 40 x 40 inches, Collage______________________ Mainly sourced from New York City sidewalks, street art and personally consumed goods, Swept in Americana captures the desire to collect, keep the small useless plastic wrappers, tokens for keep sake. Made in Asia food wrappers and plastic nonsense insulate the streets. Consumption of black art, black artists have become highways to connecting. Litter scatters across the Bronx streets, little glitter to my everyday walk to trains and buses. The working class is filled with people of color, carving out our neighborhoods, sculpting our favorite spots, and connecting our many tongues together.

n September of 2022, Chris moved back with their family of 10, in a two story house in San Francisco. She no longer has access to wood and metal shops in Santa Cruz. Slowly, she is carving out small spaces to enable her sculptures to come to life. Vending has become a larger part of their life, enabling a intimate connection with community.
